Axelar has extended its network into Moonbeam by allowing bridging of tokens between select Cosmos and EVM Networks.

Asides from this property of a token bridge being enabled, Axelar’s GMP (general message pass ) protocol allows for cross-chain smart contract communication.

This will allow developers to build cross-chain connected applications that can harness the resources from Polkadot, Ethereum, Cosmos, Avalanche, and more in terms of functionality.

Presently multi-chain Dapps are in the form of unified interfaces for duplicated protocols across multiple EVMs.

These protocols will then enable cross-chain contracts connection using Axelars GMP. This will further facilitate elaborate functionality and interoperability between what initially were isolated ecosystems making them “multichain aware”.

About Axelar

Axelar is a platform that provides secure state-of-the-art cross-chain communication for web3.

It is built on delegated proof of stake chains, an approach applied by Cosmos, Avalanche, and ETH2.

Axelar allows developers to build the Dapps that allow users to conveniently interact with several assets and applications on several chains.

About Moonbeam

Moonbeam is a platform that provides smart contract execution capabilities for cross-chain connected applications. It enables unity of functionality from ETH, Polkadot, and a lot more.

Moonbeam is a Parachain on Polkadot. It was onboarded on the 17th of December 2021 onto the relay chain.

Being the most Ethereum blockchain compatible smart contract Parachain in the Polkadot ecosystem, it permits developers to plug in their projects with little to no changes needed in the code.

It also enables these projects to tap into the functionality of the Polkadot ecosystem and its shared security.
