Leading Polkadot projects, Acala and its sister network Karura recently announced that, in collaboration with Zondax, the developer mode of Ledger is now available for Acala and Karura tokens. This will allow users of Acala and Karura to tap into the robust security provided by the hardware wallet interface. 

This is coming as part of Zondax’s collaboration with Web3foundation to develop Ledger apps for parachains on the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems. They offer  three Ledger app software development packages; Basic, Standard and Custom.

Ahead of full launch, please note this release is for advanced users, it’s still in development, so users are advised to report any bugs.

The Ledger Developer mode will

Allow debug apps : Display and allow opening debug tagged platform apps.

Allow experimental apps : Display and allow opening experimental tagged platform apps.

Set the catalog provider : Switch between multiple platform apps sources (Production of Staging).

Enable platform dev tools : Enable opening platform apps dev tools window.

Add a local app : Browse local files and add a local app using a local mani
