Here we are again with recap on the major stories from last week.

Governance

  • Integritee has successfully completed yet another major milestone on their roadmap after winning the 24th parachain slot on Polkadot. With liquid derivatives provided to crowdloan participants through the help of Bifrost and distribution of TEER rewards from social media contests, Integritee was able to raise more than 100,000 $DOT. Learn more about Integritee and what this success means overall in the full news here
  • From a parathread to parachain, Altair’s win of the 47th Kusama parachain slot means the team now can focus on their next breakthrough— the development of what they called Connectors. The latter is a hybrid cross-chain solution aimed to bring Real world Asset (RWA) on chain. Read the full news to learn more about Altair.

Partnerships

  • Onfinality has seen yet another partnership with SiO2 finance and Astrid DAO. This comes days after their partnership with Ruby Protocol, details of which can be found here. Just like Ruby, now SiO2 and Astrid nodes will also not have to worry about viability, scalability or the inconveniences associated with setting up node hardware from scratch. • In the following weeks, Web3 developers at Subsquid will have access to Dwellir’s development nodes starting at $100 rate per month. Announced after their partnership we reported, the Dwellir endpoints will be accessible for Subsquid developers via the Aquarium web app.
  • Meanwhile, Astar network has expanded its developer tooling capacity after strategic partnership with Alchemy platform. With Alchemy already supporting EVM (including L2 chains such as Polygon) and non-EVM chains alike, now developers on Astar have access to Alchemy supernode, Alchemy SDK, Alchemy notify, Mempool visualizer and Explorer. Wallets

  • In efforts to increase ledger support across the DotSama ecosystem, Acala and Karura tokens are now available on ledger. This comes as part of the Zondax collaboration with Web3 foundation. To explore further, check out the news we published here
  • Myetherwallet now supports DotSama tokens on its browser extension, Enkrypt. The vision of web3 in achieving interoperability between blockchains got even closer as this allows substrate chain tokens to lie side by side with EVM tokens. Click here for the full news

Events and others

Events interlude
  • As we reported last week, today 8th August, marks the commencement day of Moonbeam-Axelar workshop on Improving Web3 User Experience with cross chain Innovation. Coming up just a few weeks after their partnership which we covered here. Remember that Axelar was first to make it possible for DOT to cross over to Cosmos via Osmosis. Now the union plans to improve web3 user’s experience through this workshop. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn the cutting-edge technology web3 has to offer. Read the details of the event here
  • On 2nd of August, we reported on the nomad bridge exploitation in which over $190 million worth of WBTC was drained. The biggest lesson we learnt from such unprecedented eventuality is the paramount importance of comprehensive security audit. The nomad exploitation could have been avoided if simple code testing techniques such as fuzzing were employed prior to deployment of the smart contract code update. Read the full news here
  • Moonriver is now connected to Shiden Network via HRMP. This will allow message passing between the two chains in the meantime before the full functionality of XCMP takes charge. Details about what this development has to offer is in the full news here
  • The moonbeam-moonriver team is currently seeing to the next maturity of XCM. Currently in its Moonbase Alpha TestNet, the team is testing the first proof-of-concept for EVM access through XCM. For more information on this, read the full report here
